Cinna-Yum Nuts

It’s Christmas Eve and I’m officially done making & baking ALL Christmas Candies! I wanted to share with you these Cinnamon & Sugar Pecans which are easy to make and tasty to snack on. They make a perfect counter top presentation snack when entertaining!

Ingredients
1 Large Egg White
3 Cups of Pecan Halves
1/3 Cup of Sugar
1 tbsp of Cinnamon
2 tsp of Vanilla
1/4 tsp of Salt
Whisk the egg white in a bowl or use already blended egg whites and pour over the pecans. Stirring in a bowl until coated. In a separate bowl mix the cinnamon, sugar, vanilla, and salt together. Now pour over nuts and toss well. Spread the coated nuts onto a ungreased baking sheet (I lined mine with parchment paper). Bake for 20 min at 300 degrees without stirring. Use a spatula to remove the nuts from the baking sheet immediately onto a cool plate. Allow to cool completely and store in a tightly closed container. Wa-La Cinnamon & Sugar Nuts!

Sugar Cone Christmas Trees

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree! These Sugar Cone Christmas Trees are great if your looking to create an edible Christmas Scene. You can use them as a centerpiece for your table or just because and they are fun for kids to make too. Plus, they are easy to make if you haven’t quite mastered making a gingerbread house.
Your creativity can run as wild as you allow it when decorating these. I used holiday ingredients I already had in the pantry.

Ingredients
Sugar Cones (You can always make your own)
Holiday Color M&Ms
Mini Marshmallows
Red & Green Sprinkles
White Cake Gems
Coconut
Green Food Color Spray
Red Candy Gel
Vanilla Candy Coating Chocolate

Again, you want to set up your station. Take your mini marshmallows and cut them in halves. Melt candy coating. Dip or spoon your chocolate onto your sugar cone. Then decorate to your liking and place on wax paper to harden. I dipped one in the melted vanilla coating, sprayed with green food color, sprinkled with coconut and placed a marshmallow on top as a tree topper (gum drops would be good here too). Two of the cones I dipped in the melted vanilla coating and sprinkled with red and green sprinkles. I dipped another one in the vanilla coating and placed white cake gems on the sugar cone and then I drew lines around the sugar cone with red candy gel and another I placed red and green m&ms. The possibilities are endless so get as creative as you like! 🙂

Reindeer Pops

Do you recall the most famous reindeer of all? Why its….Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer! Christmas brings out the kid in all of us and these Chocolate Reindeer Pops are adorably cute and edible!

Ingredients
Large Marshmallows
White Cake Gems
Red Mike & Ikes (I used cinnamon)
Pretzels
Sucker Sticks
Set up your station by laying out all of your ingredients. Cut your Mike & Ikes in halves for Rudolph’s nose. Brake your pretzels for antlers. Melt your dipping chocolate. Place your marshmallow on a stick. Dip in Chocolate. Place Rudolph’s nose on and use the white cake gems as eyes. Stick your pretzels in for antlers and place in a colander to dry. Once dry tie a piece of ribbon around the stick to add a little Rudolph flare! If you would like to give these away  you  could buy festive cellophane bags and wrap around your individual reindeer pops and tie closed with a ribbon. 🙂

Hot Chocolate & Crushed Peppermint

Hello All! I kicked off my morning with hot chocolate and crushed peppermint. What’s hot chocolate without marshmallows and cool whip? It’s Plain Jane and there are NO Plain Jane’s around here. So, of course those were added too and I think I hear Starbucks calling now for the recipe because its sooooo delicious! Im holiday obsessed at the moment and the rest of my day is dedicated to making more holiday candy for YOU! 🙂 Oh, and it happens to be snowing today so not much else to do but cook and enjoy the fire I have burning. The snow really makes it feel like Christmas!
I happen to have a cuisnart coffee maker that comes in handy daily. I have the hot chocolate pods which I popped in to make myself a cup in under a minute. Genius I tell you! I made my crushed peppermint in my food processor which is a perfect surprise of flavor to add to your coffee or any of your holiday desserts. I know everyone doesn’t love peppermint and to be honest I’m not a huge peppermint fan but when you grind it up into a powder (you can grind to your liking) it has a nice light sweet flavor and adds a little extra something to your dishes. I blended my peppermint a fine consistency, place mini marshmallows in my hot chocolate, squeezed a nice size portion of reddi-whip on top and sprinkled with peppermint! Bam~you now have yourself an $8 cup of Starbucks hot chocolate in the luxury of your own home! 🙂

Strawberry Santa’s

Ho Ho Ho! I would normally not want to eat Santa but in this case he’s edible and yummy! These strawberry santa claus’s are so cute when entertaining or for the kids to get in the holiday spirit! Wash and slice your strawberries just cutting the pointy part of the strawberry off to create Santa’s hat.
Ingredients
8oz Cream Cheese
3/4 cups of Powdered Sugar
1 cup of Reddi Whip
Tube of Black Gel
Mix in a bowl the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and reddi whip. Taste and add more powdered sugar or reddi whip to your liking. Place some of the cream cheese mixture on the large piece of the strawberry. Add the pointy piece on top and then place a dot on top for the ball of santa’s hat. You can make a homemade piping bag like I did above or try and spoon it on top. Use the black gel to create eyes and Wa-La Strawberry Santa’s!! They are better chilled for a few hours and you can make them a day in advance if your preparing for a party. 🙂

Fig Preserves & Fromager D’Affinois

Appetizers or Hors d’oeuvre (whatever your occasion or whatever you like to refer to them as) are HUGE with me! I think they are a great pre-dinner snack, perfect with wine, and are a crowd pleaser! I paired fig preserves with fromager d’affinois (similar to brie), marcona almonds, and served on top of a natural crispbread (thin wafer). Oh, my ….these bite size treats are mouth watering! The fig preserves are a nice compliment to the french double-cream soft cheese made from cows milk and the marcona almond (from spain) adds a sweet & salty crunch and flavor. I highly recommend these when entertaining or just having the girls over some wine and cheese!
