Breakfast is a MUST for me or I don’t function correctly and most mornings its oatmeal or something quick, except lately I’ve really been cooking it up for the book!
Anyways, this morning I made a SIMPLE turkey sausage, eggs, cheese, and croissant breakfast by pre-cooking my ingredients and placing them down the center of rolled out croissants. Placing slits on both sides and braiding over to create a breakfast stuffed croissant.
It’s like a BREAKFAST STROMBOLI! Pillsbury to the rescue on those morning you just don’t want to do anything from scratch yet you want something warm in the tummy!
1 Can of Pillsbury Croissants
Pre-Cooked Turkey Sausage
Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Crack eggs into bowl, add a splash of milk and beat well with a fork. Mix well and scramble in a pan. Roll out your croissants onto a baking sheet pinching the perforated edges so that the ingredients don’t seep out. Place scrambled eggs down the center of the rolled out croissants. Add as much pre-cooked turkey sausage as you like (I added a 1/2 of cup). Sprinkle with cheese. Now, take a knife and cut slits down both side of your rolled out croissant so that you can braid them over the ingredients in the center. Fold the dough over to cover your ingredients to create a stromboli look and brush the top with a egg wash to get that nice golden brown color. Pop into your 350 degree oven for 20 minutes and ENJOY! The warm ingredients with the gooey cheese and buttery flavor of the croissant is HEAVENLY!
